Hear The Untold Story- Women And The Great War
Coinciding with Women’s History Month, the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum will commemorate the centennial anniversary of the United States’ entry into World War I with “Women in the Great War.” This panel discussion augments the exhibit to tell the less well-known story of the female influence on World War I. It is Saturday, March 11 from 10 a.m. to noon with experts from West Texas A&M University and PPHM. Regular admission applies.
Bushland Detour Still In Effect
The Texas Department of Transportation reports one lane of Interstate 40 westbound is now open after last week’s truck accident at the Bushland, TX exit. However, RM 2381 under I-40 remains closed in both directions for at least the next week. Southbound RM 2381 traffic is detoured west to Adkisson Rd and northbound RM 2381 traffic will be detoured to Arnot Rd to travel west. Repairs will be ongoing and traffic patterns may change on short notice. Please advise your guests to allow extra time to travel through Bushland and to always obey traffic signs.

Help Lake Meredith Keep An Eye Out For Vandals
Staff at Lake Meredith National Recreation Area report a recent rash of vandalism within the Fritch Fortress Amphitheatre area of the park. So, the Fritch Fortress area will be closed overnight as part of regular operations for the foreseeable future. But all areas of the park are open during the day. If you have any questions or concerns about the park, contact headquarters at 806-857-3151.

The Deltaz Perform For Yellow City Sounds
Yellow City Sounds, presented by FM90, PanhandlePBS and Amarillo College, returns with a performance by The Deltaz on Friday, March 10 in the PanhandlePBS studios at 2408 S Jackson St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 7. Admission is free. Pickup advance tickets at FM90 studios. For more information call 806-371-5287.
Get The Scoop On Forensics And Murder Mysteries
Join the Amarillo Library to learn more about forensics with mystery writer and former county sheriff Trey Barker. He’ll share stories from actual cases, a demonstration of fingerprinting and other technical details. It’s also a chance to purchase a signed copy of one of Barker’s books, including East of the Sun. The program is Thursday, March 9 at 7 pm at the Downtown Library. There is no admission fee.
David Berkeley Returns For Living Room Concert
High Plains Public Radio brings back its Living Room Concert series with David Berkeley on Friday, March 10 in the Chalice Abbey (2717 Stanley). Doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert will start by 7:30. Suggested donation of $15 per person. For more information call 806-678-7444.

Here’s Something Different- A Closing Reception
On Saturday, March 11 join Chalice Abbey as it wraps up the popular exhibit of Steven Schroeder (he is an artist, scholar and poet). The closing reception will feature poetry, music, food and maybe some enlightenment from 6 to 9 p.m.

Welcome The Mudbugs This Weekend
The regular season of the NAHL Amarillo Bulls is wrapping up with a trio of home games this weekend at the Amarillo Civic Center Complex Coliseum. Games are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 9-11 and all start at 7 pm. All three games are against the Shreveport Mudbugs.
